"...We don't have to eat everything we see, and we don't have
to say everything we think. So we begin by watching our words and speaking
with good purpose only."
~ Rolling Thunder (American Indian medicine man) as quoted by Marshall
Thurber in the book, "One Minute Millionaire" by Mark Victor
Hansen and Robert G. Allen.
“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless
garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being
loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”
~ Oscar Wilde (1856-1900, British Author, Wit)
DID YOU KNOW?
There is something out there that is both sweet and healthy. It doesn’t
spike blood sugar, and it is good for you even if you suffer from candida.
It has successfully been used in Japan for years and is now becoming
more and more popular in the United States: It is Fructo-oligosaccharides
or “FOS”. When produce ripens on the tree or on the vine,
FOS is what makes it so “sweet”. It is the reason that garden
fresh produce tastes so good compared to produce picked green and allowed
to ripen on store shelves. FOS helps with digestion, immune function
and yeast infections.
Women who are estrogen dominant are more likely to suffer from recurring
yeast infections, or candida overgrowth. Candida’s favorite nutrient
is glucose. Estrogen dominance increases mucus glucose, thus feeding
the candida growth. While estrogen dominance can be helped with normal
physiological doses of natural progesterone cream, yeast infections
can be helped by consumption of FOS along with live Lactobacillus acidophilus
and other “friendly” bacterias. Just like glucose feeds
candida (“bad” bacteria), FOS feeds the good bacteria, and
as such it is a probiotic enhancer, or “prebiotic”.
FOS is found in sun-ripened produce (especially onions, garlic &
asparagus and Jerusalem artichokes), tree-ripened fruit and fermented
foods like miso, tempeh and raw apple cider vinegar (Bragg’s).
FOS is also available as a supplement. In its powder form, it tastes
like cotton candy melting in your mouth. Even though FOS is sweet, it
does not create a sugar spike in the blood nor is it restricted if you
suffer candida overgrowth. On the contrary – it grows your good
bacteria which in turn helps “squeeze out” the candida.
MORE NOTES ON CANDIDA:
Yeast infections are also exacerbated by immune dysfunction. Petrochemicals
are immune depressors. Everyone can reduce petrochemicals from their
environment and lifestyle. Petrochemicals are found in: plastics (do
not let water bottles get hot in your car or put hot food/beverages
in plastic or Styrofoam containers), solvents, exhaust fumes, pesticides
(including anti-bacterials and disinfectants), herbicides, chemical
air fresheners, scented candles, and commercial fragrances (choose unscented).
When anti-biotics are used, bacteria are killed, including the important
“good” bacteria that keeps yeast under control in the body.
After every round of anti-biotics, a good round of probiotics (like
acidophilus) and FOS are needed to rebuild flora. Individuals who go
through repeated rounds of anti-biotics without rebuilding flora are
most vulnerable to candida overgrowth.
It is estimated that 90% of the U.S. population suffers from some degree
of candida overgrowth. If you have ever used anti-biotics, or you know
your immune system isn’t as strong as it should be, or you suspect
estrogen dominance, it is time for you to look into how candida overgrowth
could be affecting you.

WOMEN SHARE ABOUT HEARTLAND NATURAL PROGESTERONE CREAM
“I wanted to tell you what a difference natural progesterone
has made in my life. I am 51 years old and I had a hysterectomy 3 years
ago, 3 months after I started having hot flashes and my doctor put me
on Premarin. I didn’t like the idea of taking something that was
made from horse’s urine. I also had a lot of the side effects.
After checking around I found some herbs that worked well for about
3 months then the hot flashed started again. This time they were so
bad I went back on Premarin. Then in January I heard about the seminar
on natural progesterone. I went and listened…everything made sense.
I bought the natural progesterone and started using it that day. In
2 weeks I could already tell the difference, my skin was softer, the
hot flashes were getting less and less, no more swelling in the breast
and as the weeks go by it keeps getting better. My energy level is up
and I have lost some wrinkles…Thanks for a great product!”

“When I began using Heartland Natural Progesterone Cream, I wasn’t
sure it was necessary because I was only 38. But I knew it was safe
and I was ready to do something for my monthly irritability. By trying
it I would find out if my health issues were related to progesterone
deficiency (just like the medical doctors use “trial and error”
to diagnose, even with an unsafe drug). After 3 cycles on the cream,
my hair began to get thicker, my skin smoother, and I no longer had
any premenstrual symptoms – none! I was pleasantly surprised to
see my bleeding reduce by about 50%. The best part was I that my waist
became slightly smaller – just enough to notice a nicer figure
and it became easier to maintain my ideal weight. It was obvious to
me that I was one of the 50% of women over age 35 that are progesterone
deficient, as Dr. Lee communicates in his lectures. Since I continue
to use the progesterone cream as a “beauty cream” around
my eyes, I feel like I am getting quite a value! Thank you for such
a great product.”

ALKALIZING YOUR BODY
Yogurts are one of those noted foods of the mountain communities with
such long life spans. But their famous yogurts are a far cry from some
of the many offerings on the market today that appeal to children –
some of which come pretty close to “candy”. Know your yogurts,
and if nothing else, mix the healthy kind 50-50 with the one of the
others (if you really can’t stop), and get at least some of the
important digestive benefits.
ALKALINE HIGHLIGHT: Plain yogurt is neutral at a 4.0. Lactobacillus
Bifidus is a 4.5 and Lactobacillus Acidophilus is a 4.0. Both of these
friendly bacteria, commonly found in quality yogurts and kefirs (drinkable
yogurt), are very important as they assist the small and large intestines
in producing the correct intestinal flora for food assimilation. They
also help reduce candida (unfriendly bacteria) overgrowth.
ACID HIGHLIGHT: Sweetened yogurt has an extremely acid-forming rating
of only 2.0. Be especially careful of high fructose corn syrup, commonly
used to sweeten yogurts, and aspartame in “sugar free” (regular
sugar is better than both of these!) Buy instead a quality plain organic
yogurt high in friendly bacteria, and add your own, safer, more alkaline
sweeteners, like: brown rice syrup (made with whole grain brown rice
and organic sprouted barley), Dr. Bronner’s Barley Malt Sweetener,
dried sugar cane juice, honey, raw pure maple syrup, or maguey (concentrated
cactus juice). It is not healthy for kids to be eating artificially
dyed, highly sweetened yogurts as a staple.
A NOTE FROM DR. BAROODY:
“Vaginal yeast infections, including Herpes Simplex II, as well
as kidney and urinary tract infections thrive in a body that is debilitated
by acidity. A most prevalent one is candida albicans. This worrisome
condition can cause anything from mild discomfort to total disablement.
Yet, when acid-forming levels of the body are under control, candida
albicans will normalize itself.”
RECIPES FOR HEALTH
SUPER FAST “RANCH”
Plain organic yogurt with high counts of friendly bacteria
Bragg’s Liquid Aminos
Mix to taste. The “beefy” flavor of the Bragg’s mixes
nicely with the tart flavor of the yogurt, making a practically instant,
super healthy ranch-type dressing for dipping your veggies. Add a little
crushed raw garlic (rich in FOS) for a real zesty “flora builder”!
