DID YOU KNOW

How do you know if your hormones are out of balance? One of the best ways is to simply listen to your body. Do your symptoms tell a story? Even when you get your hormones tested (make sure to use saliva testing in order to capture the bioavailable hormone levels), it is still very important to compare the results to your symptoms. According to John R. Lee, MD, hormone profiles should, for the most part, parallel symptoms. (Page 235 –“What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer”)

The most common type of hormone imbalance among women of all ages is progesterone deficiency. If you or someone you love experiences any of the following, you need to take a closer look at hormone balancing and the potential of natural progesterone to make a difference:

Accelerated Aging
Allergies (asthma, hives, rashes)
Autoimmune Diseases (lupus, etc.)
Bloating, Water Retention
Breast Tenderness (cysts/lumps), Fibrocystic Breasts
Cervical Dysplasia (abnormal pap smear), Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
Depression (with Anxiety or Agitation)
Fat Gain (around Abdomen/Hips/Thighs)
Fatigue, Insomnia
Gallbladder Disease
Hair Loss
Headaches, Migraines
Hypoglycemia
Memory Loss (inability to focus)
Increased Blood Clotting (risk of stroke)
Infertility (early miscarriage)
Irregular Menstrual Periods
Irritability (mood swings), Sudden Rage
Loss of Libido (low sex drive)
Osteoporosis, Bone Mineral Loss
PMS, Cyclical Headaches
Prostate Inflammation
Sluggish Metabolism
Uterine Cancer, Uterine Fibroids

While progesterone deficiency is the most common, some people may have more than one type of hormonal imbalance. In his book “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer”, John R. Lee, MD breaks these symptoms and others into six symptom groups to help you understand which ones are out of balance. Click on http://www.heartlandnatural.com/progest_infotest.htm to take the hormone balance test for yourself! (Also available of page 236 of the book.) Make it a lifestyle habit to listen to your body as symptoms diminish through natural hormone balancing strategies. To talk to a live person about hormone balancing, ask for the helpline at 1-888-772-2345.

Q & A

Can natural progesterone help the skin?

Besides its hormone balancing qualities as a supplement, natural progesterone has been used as a topical cosmetic for over 60 years. One of the biggest reasons elderly men and women use the cream (besides memory restoration) is to hydrate their skin. A. Viktoria Hopponen, D.C., a chiropractor from New Hope, MN wrote to Heartland about her experience with our cream:

“Thank you for sending the information package to my office. It has been a great help to me and an eye opener. Because of the book by Dr. Lee and the video I am now completely off HRT. I am feeling just fine! This year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. After treatment was completed I put her on the progesterone cream to help heal the skin on her breast and when she went for follow up the Doctor couldn’t believe how well the skin had healed. He told her she was a month ahead of schedule. Her skin is now back to normal. Thank you again for sending this information to me.”

Ask your chiropractor to order an information packet from Heartland – the future belongs to those who ask! Also – if you have a medical doctor, chiropractor or other kind of doctor who has helped you in a special way, and would like to share their name with the Heartland family, send us an email to info@heartlandnatural.com, and we will share your referral with others that may be looking for a good doctor that supports natural solutions.

ALKALIZING YOUR BODY

One of the simplest natural health laws is to maintain an alkaline environment in the body. This helps keep our alkaline reserves (calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron and manganese) from depleting.

ALKALINE HIGHLIGHT: Strawberries. Known to have some of the same cancer fighting properties as raspberries, strawberries are rated “moderately alkaline forming” – a 5.5 (on a scale of 0.5 to 7.5). Because strawberries are one of the most heavily sprayed fruits, look for organic whenever possible or take extra care to wash them with a great fruit wash like Heartland’s All-Purpose Solution. Dilute the All-Purpose Solution with purified water (½ solution, ½ water). Place whole strawberries in a bowl and cover with water. Add a few sprays of the diluted solution. Let sit for a few minutes and watch what happens! Note: Don’t remove greens until after washing – the strawberries will absorb too much water.

ACID HIGHLIGHT: White Sugar. Only a 1.0 on the scale, white sugar is “poison” to your cells – avoid it! White sugar has been bleached and directly depresses the immune system. 42 teaspoons is enough to shut down your immune system for the day! Note: one can of soda has up to 12 teaspoons of sugar. But don’t go for the diet drinks – artificial sweeteners are among the most acid forming “non-foods” with a rating of 0.5! There are so many new healthy drinks on the market – experiment and you will be sure to find a satisfying replacement.
