DID YOU KNOW
You don't have to be in your 50's to begin thinking about
hormones. In fact, one of the groups that benefit most from
natural progesterone are women aged 20 and up, especially
those struggling to get pregnant.
In his book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Menopause,
Dr. John Lee, MD states, "Miscarriages caused by luteal
phase failure - in which the follicles ovulate normally
but fail to continue their progesterone production at levels
necessary for successful implantation of the fertilized
egg and development of the embryo - can be prevented by
progesterone treatment."
In Rachel Martin's book The Estrogen Alternative, Dr.
Lita Lee cautions that a woman can lose her baby if she
is a "high estrogen producer and/or is consuming commercial
meat, poultry and dairy products containing synthetic estrogens
(DES)." She adds that "after conception, progesterone prevents
miscarriages resulting from excess estrogen." Dr. Peat concurs
by stating, "My dissertation research established that an
estrogen excess kills the embryo by suffocation, and that
progesterone protects the embryo by promoting the delivery
of both oxygen and glucose."
Jerome Check, M.D., an infertility specialist and professor
of obstetrics and gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University
and Hahnemann University, says that "too often physicians
will treat the infertility problem with strong medication
or even surgery without checking progesterone levels first...But
for many women, natural progesterone therapy has been very
effective in helping them to become pregnant and to carry
the child to term. Only after this treatment is tried should
more drastic procedures be considered."
If you're still not sure you should try natural progesterone,
here are some of the benefits customers have experienced:
EXPECTED EFFECTS:
- You get pregnant, and do not have another miscarriage.
- Your fibrocystic breasts go back to normal in 2-3 cycles.
- Your uterine fibroid stops growing and even shrinks some.
- You finally found a way to manage your PMS!
UNEXPECTED EFFECTS:
- You feel sexier as your libido has increased.
- You can't quite pin it, but you feel better overall.
- You think more clearly and have more energy.
- Your skin looks better!
BOTTOM LINE: There are no negative side effects of natural
progesterone.
It's worth a try - you may be pleasantly surprised by the
results after just one cycle of applying Heartland Natural
Progesterone Cream. And even if it takes 2 to 4 cycles to
see and feel the positive changes as you balance your hormones,
you have a world of support at Heartland. Call our toll-free
helpline anytime - we welcome each of your questions, and

DEAR HEARTLAND,
I was on Depo-Provera birth control for 3 years. When we
were ready to begin trying to conceive, the doctor told
us it would take at least 6-9 months to begin getting periods
again, and over a year or longer to get pregnant. The medical
doctor and the infertility specialist both said it would
take a long time for my body to recover from the Depo-Provera
shot, and that all I could do was wait. My periods began
again in 5 months, but they were sporadic. Then in the 8th
month, two of my friends recommended Heartland Natural Progesterone
Cream to help regulate my periods, and they told me it also
helps with infertility. I used the cream for days 12 through
26 of my cycle, and waited for my period to come. Because
I work in a lab, I took a pregnancy test just to check –
much to my surprise, I was already PREGNANT! At 33 years
old, I am extremely excited about not having to wait any
longer. I e-mailed my friends right away to say THANK YOU!!!
T.B., Colorado

HOT NEWS
Chemicals Solvents Linked to Infertility - summary of
article By Will Boggs, MD
NEW YORK, Apr 04 (Reuters Health) - Women who work with
research laboratory chemicals are less likely to get pregnant
than other women, according to the findings of Swedish researchers
Dr. Helena Wennborg from Karolinska Institute in Huddinge
and associates.
Women who worked with chemical solvents had only 79% of
the fertility rate of women who did not. "We have found
that the use of solvents in general is associated with reduced
fecundability (ability to bear children) of women working
in laboratory environments," Wennborg and colleagues conclude.
These findings call for caution among women hoping to get
pregnant, Wennborg told Reuters Health in an interview.
"A very important aspect for a woman who desires to become
pregnant is to protect herself against the possible harmful
exposures in order to decrease release of vapors and contact
with these substances," Wennborg explained. SOURCE: Occupational
and Environmental Medicine 2001; 58:225-231.
